Shakeva Q. Frazier is a dedicated individual who has significantly contributed to her community. She is a mother of five and a grandmother of one. She graduated from DCC with an Associate degree in Liberal Arts and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Averett University. Shakeva is known for her transformative and courageous nature and deep-rooted passion for supporting and uplifting her community.
She actively participates in various community organizations and initiatives, such as the Annual Community Thanksgiving Feast, and serves as a regional and local board member of the Alliance for Excellence, the Wednesday Club, and the Duke University Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation chapter committee in Danville. She has also served as an AmeriCorp mentor, a former Chair Lady of the CIC policy council, a former member of the CIC board, and much more. She worked for the City of Danville Project Imagine program as an outreach worker, eventually serving as the Community Liaison from 2021 to 2023.
Frazier has also served as an Administrative Assistant and Assistant Director for Danville Church and Community Tutorial Program from 2015 to 2023 and as a Youth Coordinator for DRHA from 2014 to 2021. Her professionalism and commitment to making a difference have earned her recognition and numerous awards for her contributions, such as the 2023 Averett Distinguished Alumni and 2023 Community Partner of the DPD, and much more. She serves as a board member, Sergeant in Arms, and now President-nominee for the Danville Riverview Rotary and the Executive Director of Third Chance Ministry.
